Thermosonics implemented an advanced acoustic enclosure solution for three 1010 KVA DG sets located near a residential complex facing noise complaints. Through detailed noise assessment, optimized exhaust routing, and integrated acoustic control measures, the system was redesigned for compliance.

The Challenge

A commercial facility located adjacent to a luxury residential complex installed three 1010 KVA diesel generator (DG) sets for backup power. Despite using low-noise equipment and compliant silencers, operational noise levels exceeded residential acoustic limits. Late-night DG operation led to community disturbance, police complaints, and restrictions on generator usage during night hours.


The Thermosonics Approach

Thermosonics conducted a detailed acoustic assessment and identified multiple noise sources on the shared podium, including generators from other agencies. To ensure transparency and long-term compliance, coordination with consultants and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) was initiated for independent noise mapping and validation.

  • Reliable night-time DG operation without further complaints
